SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization leader, announced today that in response to growing demand for its data virtualization software, the company plans to grow its direct sales force by an additional 22 percent in the second half of 2009. Overseeing this expansion and ensuring seamless service to existing and prospective customers will be Composite sales veteran, Che Wijesinghe, who has been promoted to vice president, Eastern U.S. Region. To bolster its internal sales team, the company has also inked agreements with six new partners in 2009.

The anticipated additions to its direct sales team are projected to expand Composite’s sales group overall by 40 percent in 2009. Its professional services staff has also increased by nearly 100 percent compared to 2008 hiring levels. The company is hiring in Toronto; New York City; Washington, D.C.; and London.

For four years, Wijesinghe has helped enlarge the company’s customer base in the Eastern U.S. Region, from a collection of industry-focused early adopters, to a broad cross-section of advanced users. He will oversee the team charged with Composite’s largest enterprise installations in industries including financial services, life sciences/pharmaceuticals, telecom, energy, manufacturing and retail.

“We are seeing an increasing number of customers innovate and invest in our technology to be more competitive,” said Wijesinghe. “This is primarily in an effort to leapfrog their competition in preparation for when the economy turns around. Access to accurate information in a timely fashion is a critical focus for both business and technical executives alike. Composite offers high-performance, easy-to-implement technology that provides faster time to data, at a fraction of the cost of traditional data integration methods.”

In 2009, Composite Software formed partnerships with six specialists to meet the data integration needs of enterprises seeking to optimize their information system investments. Addressing the need for cost-effective, agile data integration solutions among European-based enterprises, Composite entered partnerships with Emunio Consulting, a UK-based data integration consultancy; Janus SI, a French reseller; SCICOM, a Greek IT solutions provider; and PowerData, a provider of data management solutions based in Spain. Composite’s relationships with Adaptivity and Turnberry Solutions will support the portal, business process management and IT transformation needs for large U.S.-based enterprises.

According to Joe Rose, president and co-founder of Turnberry Solutions, “Our customers view information technology as a means to meet their business objectives of increasing revenue and reducing costs. Increasingly this means gaining better returns from existing data assets. Composite’s data virtualization middleware provides our consultants with a powerful tool to quickly unleash enterprise data and deliver the value our mutual customers seek.”
